Getting started

How does Wasteclock calculate cost?

Set the headcount and a rate (either an hourly wage, or an annual salary, which Wasteclock converts to hourly by dividing by 2,080, the standard work-year hours), then tap Start. The dollar figure climbs in real time based on headcount × rate × elapsed time, rounded to the nearest whole dollar.

Can I change the headcount or rate while a meeting is running?

Yes. Tap either pill below the dollar figure to expand that slider and adjust it inline. The timer keeps running the whole time.

What happens if I leave the app mid-meeting?

Wasteclock automatically pauses the timer when the app is backgrounded. When you come back, it stays paused: tap the play button to resume. This is deliberate, so a stray notification or phone call never quietly inflates your total.

Does resetting a meeting ask me to confirm?

Only once you're more than 30 seconds or $10 into a meeting. Under that, Reset clears instantly with no prompt. Either way, Reset keeps your last-used headcount and rate for next time; it just won't restart a meeting that's already underway.

What does the Share button do?

Tap it any time, mid-meeting or after, to bring up the iOS share sheet with a plain-text summary (total cost, duration, headcount, and rate) you can send anywhere.

Billing

Is Wasteclock a subscription?

No. Wasteclock is a one-time purchase: pay once, keep it forever. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or via Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases > My Purchases on your iPhone.

Privacy

Does Wasteclock collect any data?

No, nothing leaves your device. There's no backend, no accounts, and no analytics. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
