The short version: the Slack app stores only what it needs to run your meeting timer, never reads your channel messages, and deletes everything when you remove it.
From Slack, when you install: your workspace ID, the ID of the person who installed the app, the app's bot user ID, and the access token Slack issues so the app can post in your workspace.
When you use it in a channel: the channel ID, the ID of the timer message Wasteclock posts, and the settings you enter: headcount, hourly rate or salary, and the timer's running state.
Only if you type it in: a meeting agenda, and decisions logged with the "Log decision" button (the decision text and the Slack user ID of its owner).
When you subscribe: a Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, subscription status, and renewal date. Your name, email, and card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and held by Stripe, not by us.
We don't collect message contents, file contents, names, email addresses, or profile photos from Slack.
Wasteclock asks for these Slack scopes, and nothing else:
commands: adds the /wasteclock command.chat:write and chat:write.public: post and update the live cost message.pins:write: pin the live message so the channel can find it.channels:join: join a public channel when you start a timer there.Only to run Wasteclock: keeping each channel's timer ticking, updating the live message, showing your agenda and decisions in that message, and checking whether your workspace has an active subscription. We don't use your data for advertising, profiling, or training any AI model.
We don't sell or share your data. It's processed only by the services Wasteclock runs on:
Decisions are cleared whenever a channel's timer is reset. Everything else is kept while Wasteclock is installed.
When you remove Wasteclock from your workspace, it automatically deletes your workspace's install details, access token, channel timers, agendas, and decisions, and sets any subscription to cancel at the end of the current billing period. We keep only the Stripe billing record, which payment and tax rules require.
To request deletion without uninstalling, email us at the address below and we'll do it within 30 days.
All traffic between Slack, Stripe, and Wasteclock is encrypted with HTTPS, the database is encrypted at rest and accessed over TLS, and every request from Slack is checked against Slack's signing secret before it's processed.
Wasteclock is a business tool for workplace Slack workspaces and isn't directed at children under 13.
If the Slack app's data handling changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
