How does Fanroom work?

Open the app and tap any game that's live right now. Pick a team to root for if you like, and Fanroom drops you into a chat with up to 49 other fans watching the same game. The chat stays open until the game ends.

Why can't I join a game?

Chats only open while a game is live. Games starting within the next two hours are listed under "Starting soon" and open the moment they kick off.

Nobody else is in my chat.

After a short wait Fanroom shows how many fans are online for that game and offers a league-wide room (like "All NFL"). If your group goes quiet, a "Find a new group" button moves you into another group for the same game.

Can I change my nickname?

Once. Tap your nickname at the top of the games list. Nicknames have to be clean.

Where did my chat go?

Chats close when the game ends, and messages are deleted 24 hours later. To get back to a chat that's still open, use the "Back to your huddle" button at the top of the games list.

How do I report a message?

Long-press the message (or tap the ••• next to it) and choose Report message. It disappears from your chat right away. We review every report within 24 hours: we remove the message and ban the fan who posted it from Fanroom. When three different fans report a message it's also hidden for everyone straight away, and the sender is muted in that chat.

You can also email hello@blackhookgroup.com to report anything inappropriate. In the app, tap the people button at the top of a chat and choose Report a problem.

How do I block someone?

Long-press one of their messages and choose Block, or tap the people button at the top of the chat and tap Block next to their name. You'll never be put in a group with them again.

What gets filtered automatically?

Links are removed, messages with slurs are blocked, and other swearing is starred out.

Does Fanroom cost anything?

No. Fanroom is free, with no ads.

What does Fanroom collect?

An anonymous ID, your nickname and team pick, and the messages you send (deleted 24 hours after the game). No accounts, no analytics and no ads. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

Email hello@blackhookgroup.com with your nickname and roughly when you used Fanroom.
